About the Senior Functional Application Administrator Position

As a Senior Functional Application Manager, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and further developing a portfolio of SaaS applications in the areas of Service Management, Collaboration, and AI. The largest applications in our portfolio are Microsoft 365, Copilot, and Freshservice.

You will be part of the global ESM & Collaboration team, which consists of approximately six colleagues with junior, mid-level, and senior experience. This team is responsible for the application landscape within Service Management, Collaboration, and AI solutions, and works closely with other teams within Global Applications, including ERP and CAD & PLM.

In this role, you’ll serve as the link between business and IT. You’ll analyze business requirements, translate them into functional solutions, and ensure that applications continue to effectively support the organization’s objectives in a global, multicultural environment. You’ll take ownership of your applications, support implementations and releases, and contribute to a stable and future-proof application landscape.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • The functional management, optimization, and further development of applications within Service Management, Collaboration, and AI;
  • Analyzing and resolving complex incidents and issues;
  • Identifying business needs and translating them into requirements and user stories;
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders within the business, the IT organization, and external suppliers;
  • Supporting application onboarding, change, and lifecycle management processes;
  • Supporting implementations, releases, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT);
  • Coaching and mentoring junior and mid-level functional application administrators;
  • Monitoring the quality, continuity, and adoption of the applications in your portfolio.

You have:

  • At least 8 years of experience as a Functional Application Administrator or in a similar role;
  • Experience with SaaS and cloud applications; experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) applications is a plus;
  • Experience with testing, implementations, and release processes;
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices;
  • Experience in bridging the gap between business and IT and effectively managing stakeholders;
  • The ability to bring structure and clarity to a complex application environment.

A few more practical things you'll need:

  • An EU passport or a valid work permit for the Netherlands;
  • A good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
