Financial Domain Lead ERP (Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations)

Our client, an international wholesaler and market leader (>3,000 FTEs) in its sector (PE-owned), is currently undertaking a transformation program to further develop, automate, and modernize its business. Part of this is the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O. To successfully achieve this, we have formed a dedicated project team with experts from various disciplines. As Financial Domain Lead ERP , you will be the go-to person for the financial domain and will serve as the bridge between financial operations and technical implementation.
The rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 will take place in two strategic phases:
- Design: Here we lay the groundwork and work on mapping our current processes, including the necessary adjustments to ensure a seamless transition to D365 F&O.
- Implementation: The actual implementation and realization of process improvements and innovations in the new environment.
In this role, you will be part of the project team and report to the Accounting House Manager, who also serves as Project Lead. You will work closely with the various program leads (Sales, Operations, and Finance) to implement the program. You will serve as the central point of contact for translating complex financial processes (P2P, O2C, R2R) into the functional design of Microsoft Dynamics. In addition, you’ll use your big-picture perspective to set goals and coordinate activities such as UAT, Data Migration, Training, and post-implementation support. You’ll ensure the development of robust scripts, use cases, etc., as well as oversee the actual execution and provide feedback to the implementation partner. You’ll also maintain effective communication with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure everyone is aligned, so that activities can be executed and delivered effectively.
After implementation, there are various opportunities for internal advancement toward roles in Finance or Application Management.
What will you do?
- You will actively contribute to the design process, provide well-reasoned input to the Business Lead for Finance & Management, and offer advice
- Process Owner: Responsible for delivering the deliverables during the various phases. This includes documenting processes, performing configurations, testing, and implementing
- Business Process Translation: You have a deep understanding of financial processes and ensure they are properly configured in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Risk Analysis: Contribute to the risk analysis of financial processes and the Internal Control Framework to manage risks and ensure their integration into D365
- Coordination of Data Migration:
- Quality Assurance: In the later phases, you will design and oversee the User Acceptance Tests (UAT) to ensure the system’s reliability.
- Change Management: You train and mentor colleagues to ensure the organization is ready for the new way of working.
What do is your skillset?
- Education & Experience: You have a relevant degree in finance or business administration at the college or university level.
- System knowledge: You have experience with ERP implementation projects, and specific knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O) is a strong plus.
- AI: an affinity for the field is a plus
- Professional expertise: You have a solid foundation in finance and experience in developing and automating financial processes, and you understand how these processes work within an ERP system.
